What are HDMI Extenders?
HDMI extenders are signal extension devices designed to extend the reach of video and audio signals beyond the typical 50-foot limit of standard HDMI cables. By leveraging category cables like Cat5e, Cat6, or Cat6a, HDMI extenders enable signal transmission over much longer distances—up to several hundred feet. This capability is particularly valuable in professional AV setups, educational environments, and large-scale installations where long cable runs are necessary.

If you would like to send a 4K@120Hz signal from your gaming PC to a TV in another room, we’d recommend taking a look at our BG-EXH-8KC6. While this model is advertised as 8K, that also means that it can handle 4K@120Hz whereas most 4K extenders are going to be capped at 4K@60Hz.
HDBaseT is going to offer the high definition video signal, audio, Ethernet power and control signals (including USB) over Cat cable. Whereas a Cat6 extender might just simply be the video and audio, however this all depends on the model and your needs. If you want something that is HDBaseT technology or a nice all in one package then go for the HDBaseT option.
Yes you can as long as it has bi-directional IR control. Take for example our BG-EXH-70C3, this unit has bi-directional IR which means you can control devices from either the receiver or transmitter, it’s up to you. It also boasts an HDMI loop out so you can have the box displaying on two displays, one at the transmitter side and one on the receiver side.
For this use case we’d actually recommend either a long range splitter or matrix system if you’re attempting to run the signal to several TVs. The BG-UDAIC-E14 would be a great place to start for this use case, it offers 4K resolution as well as audio de-embedding.
It absolutely is possible to do so and we have a model using HDBaseT 3.0 that will deliver those specs for you. Take a look at our BG-EXH-4KC7, this unit will deliver 4K@60Hz up to 100m using Cat6a/7 cables.
There are a few ways to do this, but one easy way would just be to get an HDBaseT extender! HDBaseT is touted to have extremely low latency, and lucky for you we have a couple of different products using it! Try looking at the BG-EXH4KC7, this is going to offer 4K@60Hz as well as HDR10+, it also has USB transmission so you can keep using your mouse and keyboard!
You’ll need to make sure that you pick an HDMI extender that also will extend USB signals. Our BG-EXH-100C6 is a good choice as it not only is an HDBaseT extender that offers several extras but it has USB 2.0 extension on it as well
Power over Cable, or PoC, essentially means that the receiver is being powered by the cable that is sending the data. This means that you don’t need to have an independent power cable and can just have a single cable going into the receiver to deliver the video, audio as well as power. Less cables means a cleaner wall!
Our BG-EXH-70C3 is a great choice for digital signage. It’s going to focus mostly on delivering the media to the display so you’re going to have a bit more of an economical choice with this unit. It also offers bi-directional IR control so you can control devices on either the receiver or transmitter side. On top of that you’re getting a full 4K@60Hz with HDR support.
Yes there are and we have two of them! We have our BG-EXH-8K150C which is an HDBaseT solution that will offer 8K@30Hz and we have the BG-EXH-8KC6 which is going to offer some extras like VRR, FVA and ALLM.
