What are HDMI extenders and why would you need one? HDMI cables generally only travel 50 feet before signal degradation occurs. This means the maximum distance from your cable box to your TV should not exceed 50 feet. However, many applications require signals to travel longer distances without losing quality and stability.

Now for crucial viewing areas where 4K can benefit, the BZB-EXH-50 is your answer. This HDMI extender sends signals 164 feet (50 meters) as well but supports 4K/HDR at 18Gbps and uses a Cat6 cable. It is also HDMI 2.0, HDCP 2.2/HDCP 1.4, and DVI 1.0 compliant.

Both the BZB-EXHD and BZB-EXH-50 have IR control and support DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD audio formats. They also have an HDMI loop out where you can loop the input source signal from the transmitter unit to another local display or even an HDMI switcher.
Check out our video above as we demo both HDMI extenders. We connected the BZB-EXH-50 to three TVs using Cat6 cables at varying lengths: 100 feet, 150 feet, and 180 feet. Although the max distance is specified at 164 feet, we wanted to show how well our HDMI extender works. Even at 16 feet over the specs, we still have exceptional picture without issues.
