Overview

The BG-IPGEAR-XTREME-CORE is a next-generation HDMI 2.1 over IP multicast distribution system designed to deliver uncompromised Ultra-HD performance across scalable AV networks. Supporting up to 4K@120Hz 4:4:4 with ultra-low latency, it enables pristine video, high-bit-rate audio, and advanced gaming features to be transmitted up to 100 meters (330 ft) over standard Cat5e cabling. This makes it an ideal backbone for high-performance AV environments where quality, responsiveness, and flexibility are critical.

Built for both point-to-point and fully managed multicast deployments, the BG-IPGEAR-XTREME-CORE integrates seamlessly into 1GbE networks with IGMP snooping support. With bi-directional IR, RS-232, Ethernet pass-through, and USB 3.1 extension, it delivers complete signal and control transport over a single network infrastructure, perfect for professional AV, enterprise, healthcare, esports, and high-end residential applications.

Features in Depth

At its core, the BG-IPGEAR-XTREME-CORE leverages HDMI 2.1 and HDCP 2.3 compliance to support full-bandwidth signals up to FRL 6 (48Gbps). This allows the system to transmit uncompressed 4K@120Hz 4:4:4 video, ensuring pixel-perfect image fidelity with no chroma subsampling or visual artifacts. Ultra-low latency of less than one frame makes the system suitable for real-time applications such as interactive gaming, live production, and simulation environments.

The system supports multiple distribution modes, including point-to-point, point-to-many, and multicast, enabling scalable video routing across an IP network. When paired with a managed 1GbE switch supporting IGMP snooping and VLANs, users can efficiently route and control multiple transmitters and receivers without unnecessary bandwidth flooding. Proprietary multi-encode and decode technology ensures stable, synchronized delivery across all endpoints.

Beyond video, the BG-IPGEAR-XTREME-CORE delivers full-bandwidth audio support, including 7.1-channel uncompressed HDMI audio, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, and ARC/eARC functionality. Advanced EDID management and HDCP/CEC bypass ensure compatibility with a wide range of modern source devices and displays, reducing setup complexity in mixed-device environments.

Control and data extension are fully integrated into the platform. Bi-directional IR (20–60kHz) and full-duplex RS-232 allow seamless remote device control, while USB 3.1 Gen 1 and Gen 2 (USB-C) support extends high-speed peripherals between endpoints. A dedicated Ethernet pass-through port enables network or internet access in point-to-point configurations, consolidating AV, control, and data transport into a single, efficient solution.
