If you want to verify that you’re receiving a full 8K 60Hz delivery then it’s best to utilize an HDMI signal tester. We have two options for 8K testing and analyzing, our BG-AVTPG-8K and our BG-AVTPG-MINI-G2.
The best portable testing tool is going to be one of our compact HDMI testers. Specifically we’d recommend our BG-AVTPG-MINI-G2 since it will do up to 8K resolution as opposed to being capped to 4K. These are great small units that can easily be carried around in a pocket and they have an internal rechargeable battery for convenience.
If you’re a professional then it is highly recommended that you utilize a signal generator for calibration. They can be fairly small and portable so there’s no reason not to have one!
First things first is to make sure that you’re utilizing the proper cables that should be able to deliver the full 48Gbps. The next thing on the list is to use a tester like our BG-AVTPG-MINI-G2 to ensure that the cable is capable of delivering the proper signal. Then you can also confirm that the signal being delivered from whatever device you’re using like an 8K splitter is delivering said signal.
Here we’d recommend an HDMI analyzer. You will want to use it to test each cable, and also test the source device to make sure that neither of these are the problems. You can then test the screen itself if neither of those are the issue.
Yes you can, for example our BG-AVTPG-MINI-G2 handles 8K, 4K and 1080p signals. You can also test higher refresh rates with it like 4K at 120Hz.
