EDID (EXTENDED DISPLAY IDENTIFICATION DATA)
The EDID job is to read the information off a Display for the purpose of matching the sources which includes manufacturer name and serial number, product type, filter type, timings, size luminance, and pixel mapping. This is vital to ensure the source and display will be compatible for signal transmission and receival. When there is no picture, this may be the issue, referred to as EDID conflicts.

Ultra HD refers to a TV resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels. That's four times as many pixels than in a full HD TV, a total of about 8.3 million pixels. Having so many pixels means a higher pixel density, and you should have a clearer, better defined picture.

S/PDIF CHANNELS
Another new development in the new generation of HDBaseT is the ability to handle separate audio feeds from end-to-end. Not only can the embedded audio within the TMDS signal be up to 192KHz, but a further 2 sources of 48KHz can be sent bi-directionally via S/PDIF meaning separate audio baluns are no longer required. S/PDIF is based on the AES3 interconnect Standard. S/PDIF can carry two channels of uncompressed PCM Audio or compresses 5.1/7.1 surround sound like DTS; it will not support lossless surround formats that require greater bandwidth.
