Overview

The BG-IPGEAR-PRO-T/R is a high-performance HDMI over IP transmitter and receiver solution designed for scalable 4K UHD video distribution over standard Gigabit Ethernet networks. Supporting video resolutions up to 4K@60Hz, the system provides a flexible way to distribute HDMI video and audio throughout commercial, educational, government, and professional AV environments. With support for point-to-point, point-to-many, and multicast distribution, a single HDMI source can be routed to one or multiple displays across an IP network.

Designed for easy installation and system expansion, the IPGEAR-PRO system combines powerful AV distribution capabilities with integrated control and extension features. When paired with the BG-IPGEAR-PRO-C controller, connected devices can be automatically discovered and managed through a centralized interface, simplifying system configuration and operation. The system is also TAA compliant, making it suitable for government and other applications requiring compliant equipment.

Features In-Depth

The BG-IPGEAR-PRO-T/R consists of dedicated transmitter/encoder and receiver/decoder units that work together to transport HDMI video and audio over an Ethernet network. The transmitter converts the HDMI source into an IP-based signal for distribution across the network, while the receiver converts the network signal back to HDMI for connection to a display. The system supports 4K@60Hz UHD video and HDCP 2.2, providing reliable compatibility with modern high-resolution sources and displays. Power can be delivered through Power over Ethernet (PoE), helping simplify installation by reducing the need for separate power connections at each endpoint.

Beyond video distribution, the system provides extensive signal extension and control capabilities. Both transmitter and receiver units support audio embedding and de-embedding, bi-directional IR extension, and RS-232 extension, allowing AV, control, and audio signals to be transported as part of the networked system. Integrated USB 2.0 connectivity also enables KVM extension and remote management, allowing users to extend USB peripherals and interact with a remotely connected host device.

The scalable architecture allows additional transmitters and receivers to be added to the network as system requirements grow. Point-to-point and point-to-many configurations can be used for straightforward AV distribution, while multicast functionality allows a single source to be distributed to numerous endpoints without requiring a dedicated connection between every source and display. The system can also be configured for custom video wall applications, with management available through a user-friendly web interface or the free BZBGEAR Switch Control App. Compact 180 x 142 x 28 mm (7 x 5.5 x 3.2 in.) housings, optional surface-mount brackets, and support for custom rack mounting provide flexible installation options.
