CASE STUDY - AmeriCorps Training and Presentation Room Upgrades with BZBGEAR 4K PTZ Cameras
AmeriCorps, a federal agency dedicated to engaging Americans in national service, provides meaningful opportunities for individuals to address critical community needs through volunteerism and service. To support their mission, AmeriCorps requires high-quality, interactive spaces to train and educate their volunteers.
The Initial Setup
In 2021, AmeriCorps developed a flexible, multi-purpose training and presentation room designed to accommodate both small and large group sessions. The initial setup featured three projectors with Da-Lite motorized screens, four SLXD Shure wireless microphones, JBL pendant ceiling speakers, and Extron's ShareLink for wireless content sharing. All this was managed through an Extron IPCP control processor and 7-inch rack-mounted touch panels.
BZBGEAR Supports Hybrid Presentations and Remote Collaborations
By 2024, AmeriCorps enhanced the space to support hybrid presentations and remote collaboration. The upgrade included the integration of four BZBGEAR BG-ADAMO-4KND PTZ cameras (NDI|HX 3 supported), three 98-inch displays, one 86-inch display, and one 65-inch display. To ensure clear voice capture across the room, three Shure MXA920 ceiling array microphones were installed which was perfect for capturing audience interaction and Q&A sessions.
The BZBGEAR cameras were connected via active optical USB 3.0 cables and routed through an IO Genie Toggle USB switcher for seamless device management. A CAT6 cable was also used to provide PoE+ power and NDI streaming capabilities across the local network.
After system programming and calibration, the solution delivered smooth performance and exceptional image quality. BZBGEAR’s iPad app and IR remote made camera control intuitive and flexible, including AI auto-tracking features for presenters.
Conclusion
The space is now fully equipped to support live presentations, video conferencing, and hybrid training sessions. Remote participants can join through a dedicated in-rack PC, while in-room guests have the option to connect via Extron ShareLink or through a secure sub-panel with HDMI and USB ports.
