What is an 8K Matrix Switcher?
They are also popular amongst 4K120 monitor and console users, who want the ability to switch between systems.
The main advantage of an HDMI matrix switcher compared to a basic switcher is that it can handle routing input signals to multiple outputs, rather than being limited to one or two. Furthermore, BZBGEAR is a proud and active member of the 8K Alliance, ensuring that all solutions are industry-compliant and verified!

App-Based Control and Management for 8K Matrix Solutions

How to Choose the Right 8K Matrix Switcher
The primary distinction between our 8K matrixes lies in the available number of inputs and outputs. In general, if an exact fit isn’t found, it is advisable to choose an HDMI switcher with more inputs/outputs than needed to ensure that it meets both your current requirements and allows for future expansion if additional sources are added later on.
| Inputs | Outputs | Recommended HDMI Matrix |
| 2 | 2 | 2X2 HDMI configuration recommended |
| 2-4 | 2 | 4X2 or 4X4 HDMI configuration recommended |
| 2-4 | 4 | 4X4 HDMI configuration recommended |
| 4-8 | 8 | 8X8 HDMI configuration recommended |
| 8-16 | 16 | 16X16 configuration recommended |
Applications and Use Cases
Residential
An 8K switcher is a great addition to larger home entertainment systems. With true 8K support and backward compatibility for 1080P and 4K devices, users will be able to connect all of their devices without having to compromise.
Additionally, the ability to route any of the inputs to any of the outputs grants users the ability to toggle between multiple sources such as streaming devices and gaming consoles, on any connected display in the house.
Commercial
HDMI switchers are a popular video distribution choice for businesses, as they enable business owners and staff to manage multiple video streams and displays from one device.
Better yet, an 8K HDMI switch supports resolutions up to 8K60 and supports more advanced audio formats, so business owners can attract and impress customers with their content.
eSports
With support for 4K120Hz, 8K switchers are becoming widely used in eSports applications. Users can connect multiple gaming consoles or gaming PCs to their 8K matrix and route the video streams to multiple TVs or monitors.
Additionally, advanced audio support allows users to de-embedd and extract audio to a variety of modern audio systems.

If you have two TVs, then it comes down to how many sources you want to be able to switch between on those two TVs. If you just have two sources you’d like to swap between then we’d recommend our BG-8K-22MA. However if you have up to four sources, then we’d recommend the BG-8K-42MA.
Yes, our matrix switchers are capable of outputting an 8K signal in one output and a 4K signal in another output at the same time.
For a sports bar or a gaming room you’re going to want to be able to feed several screens at the same time. For that we have 8x8 and 16x16 options that are 8k capable. However if you want a more flexible system and something that you can scale to your choosing you should consider our AVoIP lineup, specifically our BG-IPGEAR-XTREME-PRO.
This is going to depend on your needs. If you just want to duplicate the source across several displays then an 8k splitter will be perfect for your needs such as the BG-8K-DA18. However if you want to be able to have multiple sources and freely swap them between your displays then a matrix switcher is your best choice like our BG-8K-44MA.
A matrix in a streaming studio offers some very real benefits, the biggest of course being that you can take any source that you want to in the studio and show it anywhere in there. So for example if you had more than one thing you wanted to show a guest it would be easy to do so, and you can also use the matrix to monitor the cameras.
This is a feature that can be a part of a matrix switcher, specifically you would need to look for one with independent audio routing. For example if you were to take our BG-8K-44MA you would be able to independently swap between any audio you wanted to any source through the app.
Yes! Most of our 8k matrices that have IP/RS-232 control have drivers for Control4 and Crestron! You can find these for download on the product page underneath the resources tab for the product.
You absolutely can, if it has a KVM that is preferable but you could without a KVM as well. It would be a lot more annoying without a KVM however since you couldn’t share the keyboard and mouse without it.
For a small office if you’re wanting the most cost-effective solutions then you’re going to be looking at 2x2 or 4x4 matrix options. For our 8k matrices, our BG-8K-22MA is going to be our most cost effective option and it gives you the full benefits of 8k such as VRR and 48Gbps.
