Troubleshooting a Blinking Red Light on a PTZ Camera
If your BZBGEAR PTZ camera does not complete the boot process and the front LED is blinking red, follow the steps below before contacting Support.
1. Verify Power Source
Power related issues are the most common cause of a failed boot or self-check process.
- If you are using PoE, try powering the camera with the included power adapter instead.
- Test a different Ethernet cable.
- Try a different PoE port or, if available, a different PoE switch.
- Power the camera using the power adapter and connect it directly to a PC via Ethernet, bypassing the network switch.
2. Attempt to Access the Web Interface
- While the camera is blinking red, check whether it is reachable on the network.
- If you can access the Web GUI, perform a factory reset from the interface and allow the camera to reboot.
3. Allow Additional Boot Time
- In some cases, the camera may take longer to initialize.
- Let the camera remain powered on for several minutes, then check if the LED changes from red to green.
- If the light turns green after a while, please try applying the latest firmware for the camera and factory reset afterwards.
4. Contact Support
If the camera remains unreachable, does not respond, or continues blinking red after completing all steps above, please contact support@bzbgear.com for further assistance.
