BG-COMMANDER-G2 / PRO Camera Feed Troubleshooting Guide

If your camera feed is missing, frozen, or unstable on the BG-COMMANDER-G2 or BG-COMMANDER-PRO, follow the steps below.

1. No Camera Feed Showing

If you cannot control the camera

• The camera was likely not added correctly
• Remove the camera and add it again using the correct IP address and login info

If you can control the camera but see no video

• Verify the RTSP stream URL is correct
• Test the stream in VLC or OBS on a device connected to the same network
• If it does not work there, the issue is with the camera’s video encode settings or network

2. Camera Feed Showing but Unstable

If the video is freezing, pixelated, or dropping:

• Lower the camera’s video bitrate
• Reduce frame rate (FPS) if needed
• Confirm the camera and controller are on a stable wired network.  Reboot your network switch if necessary. 

Recommended Bitrates

• 720p60: 3,500–4,500 kb/s
• 1080p30: 4,500–6,000 kb/s
• 1080p60: 6,500–8,000 kb/s

3. Network Connection Check

• Ensure all devices are on the same network
• Avoid Wi-Fi for camera connections
• Power cycle the camera, network switch, and BG-COMMANDER
• If you have a lot of devices connected to the network switch and you’re getting unstable results, remove some of the devices and test. If improved, it may be a bandwidth congestion issue.
