How to Set Up and Control Video Wall / Matrix Switcher BG-MVS4x4-4KL
Today, we’re introducing one of our brand-new video wall/matrix processors—the BG-MVS-4x4-4KL. This seamless 4x4 processor is perfect for consumer setups, whether you have multiple streaming devices, media players, or game consoles. Whether you're looking to create a matrix or set up a video wall, we've got you covered.
Plug-and-Play Simplicity
BG-MVS-4x4-4KL is incredibly easy to use—simply plug and play. All you need to do is connect it to your network, and it offers a web GUI for control. You can also manage it via the included remote or the buttons on the front of the device. Today, we’ll walk you through a demonstration to show just how simple it is to control and set up.
Setup Overview
First, let’s go over our setup. As mentioned, this is a 4x4 matrix, meaning four inputs and four outputs. For today’s demo, we are using a media player, a test pattern generator, Apple TV, and a Fire Stick. The setup is straightforward—everything is connected to our four TVs arranged in a 2x2 video wall orientation.
Controlling BG-MVS-4x4-4KL
Once the setup is complete, we move on to controlling the unit. We’ll be using the web GUI. After connecting it to your network, log into the web interface, which makes it easy to control and adjust the settings. Alternatively, you can download our BZB Switch Control app, which supports most of our matrices and video wall processors, including this one. The free app is available for Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad, or Android, and as long as these devices are on the same network as the unit, you're good to go.
Accessing the Web Interface
To access the web interface, the first thing you’ll need to do is network the device. The manual explains how to do this. The default IP address is 192.168.0.100, and once you log in, you can change this IP address as needed. You can also confirm your IP address by pressing the info button on the remote. Now, let’s dive into the web interface.
Matrix Mode
Enter the IP address into the browser. The default login is admin/admin, and from here, you’ll find product details, firmware version, network info, and more. The interface offers both matrix and video wall modes. In matrix mode, you can easily drag and drop sources to outputs. I’ve pre-labeled all my sources, so switching between them is seamless. For instance, you can easily switch the media player to all screens or split sources across multiple screens.
The matrix function also allows you to save presets. I’ve already set up a point-to-point preset, where input one corresponds to output one, and so on. Switching between presets is smooth and effortless.
Video Wall Mode
Next, let's jump over to video wall mode. This mode allows you to set up configurations such as a 2x2, 4x1, or custom orientations. You can also customize the layout to fit non-standard configurations. Additionally, users can flip their TVs for bezel adjustments, and the interface allows you to mirror displays with ease.
For video walls, you can also manage presets. I’ve set one up for the Fire Stick and switching between presets is just as easy. The network settings allow you to adjust DHCP settings or set a static IP, while system settings give you control over panel locking, beeping sounds, and more.
Advanced Settings
What’s great is that you can even customize the splash screen for when a source is not connected. Options include crosshairs, grayscale, or color bars, which can be handy for testing purposes. You’ll also find the option to update firmware or reset the unit to factory settings.
Perfect for Any Environment
Overall, BG-MVS-4x4-4KL is a fantastic unit for home theaters, conference rooms, or even sports bars looking to display multiple sources. Whether you’re watching football, the Olympics, or movies, this processor makes it seamless to manage and switch between devices.
