Once your production is mixed it’s ready to be streamed online. This is accomplished via a software or hardware-based encoder. When using software, you will need a capture device that is connected to the output of your video mixer (or camera output if using a single camera). A capture device will take your audio and video signals and convert them to USB. The USB is connected to a computer hosting your streaming software which then sends your stream to the internet.
A hardware encoder also connects to your audio and video outputs. Rather than converting it to a USB signal, it connects directly to the internet via an RJ45 connection for direct streaming without a computer.
